Every Day Is A Wonder

You came over for a few hours last night since your Dad had a scrimmage. You and Gpa had to go to the garage to get some things to play with.
We got out the little red trike.  You weren't sure what you were actually suppose to do with it.
But then you got the hang of sitting on it.  You are not big enough to peddle yet. But it won't be long.
You got tired and decided you would rather take a ride around the yard.

Then you noticed the cows in the pasture.
You stood and watched and just took in the wonder of it all.
And Gpa and I just watched the wonder of you.

First Tux

I was sitting here and just realized that we had a big happening and I forgot to blog about it.  Your first tux.
You were the ring bearer in Travis and Sara's wedding.
It was a family event.
You had just started walking and were going to try to do the whole walk down the aisle thing
but those pesky dress shoes kept tripping you.
So your Mom had to carry you.
The wedding was beautiful and like all weddings it was sealed with a kiss.
Every man has many occassions to wear a tux but there is only once that it is the
1st tux and..... you sure wore it well.

This Is How We Do Weekends

Look who popped in for a visit.
We found your Uncle Adam's monster truck in the closet.
You had a great time chasing it around the living room.
Since Hon likes to clean you thought you would help so you got your sweeper out and gave her some assistance.
You got hot and tired so you stripped down to your diaper and had to sit down to work. But then you got your second wind and up and away you went.
After finishing your chores you got your hotrod out
and pulled up for a drive in movie.
We love you to come over and play.

Love Letter

It is amazing that a whole year has passed since you were born. The day you were born your Gpa and I were at the hospital waiting to meet you. As the day faded and evening came we started to get a bit anxious after all your Mama is our baby girl and we always want things easy for our kids. Finally, the doctor decided to take you by C section. Your Hon couldn't even watch them take your Mom to the elevator to go to surgery. We were so thankful when your Daddy called and said you were here and all was well. We couldn't wait until they brought you up to see us. You were perfect and beautiful and we were in love at first sight.
Since that night a year ago you have brought so much joy and love into our lives. We babysat you the first six months of your life.  Those were precious times rocking, singing and loving on you. Then you started going to daycare but you still came to stay while your Dad and Mom worked in the evenings. We have had a blast watching you learn to hold your head up
sit up on your own
crawl like a madman
try to feed yourself
and walk
You have grown so much in the last year and we feel so blessed to have witnessed
it.  You have gone from a sweet little infant to a happy, easy going toddler that is so much fun to be around.
As your Hon my job is to spoil you like crazy and love you unconditionally. There is nothing I would rather do. You will always be my first grandbaby and I will always be here for you.
I am looking forward to next year as you learn to run, to talk, and to ride a trike. It will be so fun to read books to you, to do puzzles and play cars. I can't wait to be a part of all the things you will learn to do. So watch out world Big E is working on year two!!!

12 Months

You still aren't walking but man can you crawl fast.
You love to walk behind trucks and push them all over the place.
You laugh a lot and are a lot of fun to be around.
I am sure more fun is coming!!!

Daddy's Day

You are a lucky little boy who has a Daddy that adores you. So to show your Daddy how much you love him we had to have a photo shoot.

Don't Blink

It seems like yesterday that you were born. You have gone from this
to this in a bink of an eye.
Today we celebrated your first birthday with a party at the ballfield where your Daddy is the baseball coach.
We went with an All-Star theme.
You had baseball cupcakes, and a little cake with Babe Ruth and Yogi Bear signatures.
Water bottles with your picture on them.
You weren't so keen on the whole smash cake business.
You had to have a little help to open presents.
Your 1st B'day party was a great success.   Gpa and Hon love you very much.
